How to Draw Mario's Head

if youve ever tried to draw mario, you may have realized his head has some pretty tricky proportions. so here are some step by step instructions for drawing a proper mario head.

sketch lightly

1. start with a circle. it doesnt have to be perfect but i would mak it fairly round. now separate it into 4 segments with 2 guidelines. make sure the horizontal one is a little below the half way point.

2. where the 2 lines intersect, sketch an oval for the nose. then draw a trapezoid shape around the oval to start the mustache and separate it into 6 segments. now use the bottom portion of the circle to sketch out his cheaks and his chin. after all this draw 2 more horizontal guidelins for the eyes. keep in mind its probably easiest to start with the nose and work outward.

3. use the 2 other guidelines to sketch in the eyes (you can start on the details of the eyes at this point if you want, even though i didnt) now sketch in the eyebrows, the side of marios head (dont forget the sideburns), his hats bill. now draw a mark aove his head to indicate the top of his hat

4. now sketch his ears (they lines up with his eyes), finish his mustache, and sketch the rest of the hat. youre pretty much done by now. just tweek it up to your standards, daren lines, shade, color, etc.
